Community Support Associate (CSA)

The Community Support Associate Certificate (CSA) is a 21 week program composed of 16 credit hours. This intensive certificate program equips students with the foundational skills and knowledge to provide direct care and support to individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders. The program emphasizes practical training in daily living assistance, treatment plan support, and fostering a safe, empowering environment. This certificate serves as a stepping stone for those entering the field of community support or seeking to enhance their qualifications for career advancement.

 

Community Support Associate Curriculum

This certificate program requires 16 hours of coursework as follows:

 

COMP 101: Introduction to Computers – 3 credit hours

WOSK 101: Workplace Skills – 3 credit hours

ARS 101: Recovery Principles – 3 credit hours

ARS 105: Survey of Human Services – 3 credit hours

ARS 106: Professional Ethics  – 3 credit hours 

CSA 104: CSA Capstone – 1 credit hour
